REANAL AND CELTIC CATALYSTS TEAM UP TO PROVIDE DIFFICULT-TO-MAKE AMINO ACIDS FOR PEPTIDE MARKET
Budapest and Dublin, February 22nd, 2011
Reanal a leading producer of amino acids, headquarted in Budapest, Hungary and Celtic Catalysts a chiral technology and process development company headquartered in Dublin, Ireland today announced the formation of a strategic alliance. This alliance brings together Celtic Catalysts’ world-class expertise and technology in asymmetric catalysis with Reanal’s 100-year track record for providing high-specification amino acids and related products to peptide manufacturers. The companies will work together to provide the pharmaceutical industry (and peptide manufacturers in particular) with high specification unnatural, unusual amino acids at large scale.
Brian Kelly, CEO of Celtic Catalysts commented, “I am delighted that Celtic Catalysts is forming this alliance with Reanal. It fits perfectly with our strategy of partnering with recognized leaders in large-scale amino acid production with whom we can work to supply our customers with high specification products at whatever scale they require”.
Vilmos Galamb, CEO of Reanal is very optimistic about the success of cooperation: “The proven experience of Reanal in manufacturing amino acid derivatives for the peptide industry combined with the novel chiral technologies Celtic provides smooth scale-up from the research scale to production scale. The primary beneficiary of this integration is certainly the pharmaceutical industry which can easily access new building blocks in larger scale.”
