Xylazine (CAS: 7361-61-7, N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-5,6-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazin-2-amine) is used particularly veterinary medicine. Its primary use is sedation, anesthesia, muscle relaxation and analgesia in mammals, like horses, cattle and other mammals. Xylazine might be used as an emetic by a veterinarian to remove a substance from the stomach of a cat.
